My Day in LA With Sammy

By far the highlight of my entire Spring Break (or even 2015 so far) was being able to visit Sammy, one of my best bloggy friends. We talk nearly every day and haven't seen each other since July, so you can imagine how excited we were! When I told her I would be flying out over Spring Break, we immediately started planning everything we would have to do, from going to cute restaurants (with natural lighting for Instagram pictures, obvi) to exploring new places to shooting pictures in front of the pink wall (more on that below). It was too fun to see where she and her family live and experience a day in her life (not to mention drive around in her Mini Cooper named Bubbles... aka my new best friend). Here's what we were up to during our day in LA....

Before I get into the first snap, I thought I would share what we did the night before, since she picked me up a few hours after school and I slept over at her house. Sammy and I are fans of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills (#guilty) and she surprised me by taking me to Lisa's restaurant SUR for dinner. So, so delicious and really fun to see what the restaurant actually looks like in real life! After that, we grabbed dessert at Millions of Milkshakes (a must-try if you're in the area) and headed back to her neighborhood so she could show me around her town. The next morning, she got some exciting college news and then we headed over to her school so I could meet some of her friends. Then, we went to her mom's jewelry store (the cutest thing in the world!!) and chatted before embarking on our LA adventure. BTW: how precious is her mom, Mimi?!

For what ended up being a bit of a later brunch, we went to Bottega Louie downtown. Oh. My Goodness. This place was absolutely stunning and had the most delicious food ever - the caesar salad we ordered was probably the best I've ever had in my life. And just look at those desserts!

After brunch, we drove to the Sugar Paper LA store - kind of a trek but so worth it! I won't go too into detail because I have a whole post with tons of pictures coming up this week :)

Then, we took a spontaneous stop to the Beverly Hills Hotel. I had never been and Sammy and I ended up wandering around the restaurants and pool area. Doesn't this seating area look like it would be the set of a Lilly Pulitzer resort shoot?!

I won't spoil any pictures from the pink wall quite yet, but when we left the hotel we shot pictures at the pink wall (aka the Paul Smith store in West Hollywood), shopped around at the Grove and then grabbed dinner at the Ivy in Beverly Hills. You have to see how beautiful this picture is! We enjoyed yet another delicious salad here and then walked down the street for dessert at Georgetown Cupcakes.

Spending a day with Sammy (and Mimi!) was seriously one of the best days ever, and I'm so thankful we were able to catch up after so long!

Have you gone to any of the places we visited? Any favorites or other must-sees for next trip?
And of course, thank you so much to Sammy and her parents for having me!
xoxo
